Aalto Blanco de Parcela 2019

The first white ever produced here is the 2019 Fuente de las Hontanillas, pure Verdejo from a plot planted in 2013 around the winery on limestone soils. It fermented in 500-liter oak barrel where it matured with the lees for nine months with bâtonnage every week or 10 days. Despite the ripe nose, the wine is only 12.5% alcohol, gives a sensation of voluptuousness and is creamy and dense but with the chalky limestone sensation. It gives a sensation of some development. It's ready now. An unusual Verdejo. 3,000 bottles produced. I also previewed the 2020 in the making (cloudy and opaque)—a blend of Albillo and Verdejo harvested earlier and from a cooler year and with a fresher profile.
