202 is the postal code for Washington, which is where Francis and Katherine Rooney, the American owners of this exciting new winery come from. Ansa is a pure Tempranillo from Labastida, Elvillar, Kripan and Lanciego, aged in new French oak. It's a very impressive release that looks as good as it tastes, with fine tannins, garrigue aromas, well handled oak and a long, tapering finish. 2021-30.
A handy array of dark, toasty spices here with rich dark berries, mocha and graphite. The palate is succulent and even with nice, juicy plum flesh. Mocha to close. Drink now.
