Casalabor 2015

"There is also a varietal Arco, an old and almost forgotten local grape that seems to be making a mini comeback, of which I tasted the second vintage, the 2015 Casalabor. There are still very few bottled wines of the variety to have conclusions, but it seems like the grape is very good for obtaining delicate wines with not that much color, a grape that does not need oak aromas or flavors, on the contrary, it seems to benefit from aging in more neutral containers to preserve the floral aromas. It has a bright ruby color, and even in a warm, dry and ripe vintage like 2015, it seems to keep the finesse. It has great purity, a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins, focused flavors and a finish lifted by the freshness. A grape to follow in the Mediterranean zone."
