The Wine Advocate:

"The top of the range is an unusual blend of 75% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Valladolid zone, from different vineyards that is called 2013 El Origen de Prieto Pariente. The color is surprisingly light and there are aromas of toasted oak in the foreground. It fermented in stainless steel (malo included) with long macerations of up to 80 days, but with little extraction, and an élevage of 17 months in mostly used French barrels of 225 and 500 liters. The palate shows the effect of the oak quite a Iot, and it needs some time to integrate the wood and polish the edges. I might be underestimating this wine right now, where I see process as stronger than place; it has the benefit of the doubt, hence the + to the score. Definitely ambitious. Time will tell... 5,097 bottles were filled in April 2015."
