This is a well-judged cuvée of Tempranillo from the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria with 25% Garnacha from the cooler, more southerly Alto Najerilla. Fresh, focused and built around a core of acidity, it's a subtle, spicy, well-judged style with savoury red berry flavours and understated oak. 2024-28
The more classical red 2020 Crianza is quite impressive for the vintage. It is a bright ruby color and has an expressive nose redolent of flowers, wild herbs and spices and a medium-bodied palate with a fine thread, very fine tannins and a supple finish. It was produced with a blend of 74% Tempranillo from the Sierra Cantabria and 25% Garnacha from Badarán, bottled with 14% alcohol and a pH of 3.65. It matured in 225-liter oak barrels, 85% of them French and 15% American. Truly delicious. 150,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.
El origen de Gómez Cruzado se remonta a más de un siglo atrás. Se trata de la tercera bodega fundada en el mítico Barrio de la Estación de Haro y la más pequeña de dicho enclave; un verdadero clásico que hoy se renueva.
