The 2018 La Cruz Verde comes from the same three vineyards as the 2017, and the vinification and élevage were similar. But the year was very different—2017 and 2018 were almost opposite. 2018 delivered wines of unusual freshness, irrespective of the analytical data. Despite being a cooler year with higher yields, the wine has more color than the 2017, and the wine seems to have achieved very complete ripeness. It's floral and aromatic, and the palate is very balanced, with volume and chalky tannins. This is beautiful now, and it should only get better in bottle. 12,000 bottles, 250 magnums and some larger formats. It was bottled in December 2019.
