The 2020 Maduresa has great Mediterranean character and combines structure and power with finesse and elegance in one of the finest vintages for this blend that has been changing through the years, but it changed radically in 2016; and in 2020, it is 80% Monastrell and 10% each Cariñena and Mandó, the first year it has Mandó (again). It has 14% alcohol, as the grapes ripened thoroughly that year while keeping good freshness and balance reflected in a pH of 3.45. Despite its youth, the wine feels very expressive and harmonious and with great finesse. It's medium to full-bodied, with some meaty notes, serious, structured and terrifically balanced. This is a superb Mediterranean red full of character that should develop nicely in bottle. 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2021.
