The 2018 Majuelo del Chiviritero was produced from Verdejo vines that were planted in 1981 in the village of La Seca on stony soils that deliver concentration and depth with freshness. It fermented and matured in French oak barrels with natural yeasts and matured in 225-, 300-, 400-, 500- and 600-liter barrels with the lees that were not stirred for 12 months and then kept in stainless steel for a further 11 months. The extended élevage has provided complexity, and it combines varietal notes of fresh quince and straw with yeasty and nutty undertones. The palate is round and medium to full-bodied but with very good freshness and vibrant flavors. 6,643 bottles and 60 magnums were filled in August 2020.
