Perfumed and beautiful with blackberry and violet aromas. Some sandalwood, too. Medium-bodied with refined, polished tannins and a long, pretty finish. Very fine tannins. Lovely texture. Drink or hold.
It's not easy to make 2.7 million bottles of this quality, so hats off to Paco Hurtado for producing such a consistently impressive wine. Made with fruit from Elciego to Laguardia, it's a marriage of Tempranillo with 4% Graciano that's classical in style, with ageing in American oak, vibrant acidity, liquorice and black fruit flavours and the frost-induced concentration of the vintage. 2023-29
