Tangy and fresh nose with an inviting layer of grilled herbs and stones that give a lot of energy to the blackberries, blueberries, dark chocolate and graphite. Quite juicy and fine-grained on the full-bodied palate with powerful, mealy tannins that melt into the long but subtle finish. Consistently a polished, outstanding Ribera del Duero. From organically grown grapes.
As the percentage of new oak has fallen over the last three years, so this impressive wine has started to express the remarkable freshness and quality of its terroir between 900 and 1,076 metres in Fuentenebro. Mostly made from very old vines, it's an assemblage of Tinto Fino and 15% Alarije, Albillo Mayor, Bobal, Garnacha, Graciano, Mazuelo and Viura that's wonderfully bright, chalky, layered and complex. Racy and refined, with red berry and pomegranate flavours, a dusting of oak and textured tannins. 2025-32
