There's darker fruit and more concentration and tannin in the 2019 Parada de Atauta, denoting a warmer and drier year when the wine finished at 15% alcohol and is more powerful than the 2020 I tasted next to it. The aging was slightly longer, 14 months, and they used 20% new barrels for it. It's a powerful and concentrated version of Parada. It was bottled in September 2021.
A flavorful Ribera del Duero with a serious structure to wrap the sweet blackberries, crushed blueberries, minerals and dried violets. Fresh, spicy and satisfying, with ripe fruit and plenty of sweet and dusty tannins. 100% tinto fino. Drink now or hold.
