Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura 2015

Sourced from the higher-altitude vineyards in the villages of Ábalos and Tudelilla, which produce cool Atlantic-climate Tempranillo and warmer Mediterranean Garnacha, respectively, the 2015 Viñedos de Altura is a blend of the two grapes in equal parts. The two grapes fermented separately in oak vats, and the wine matured in new French and American oak barrels for 15 months. It's fresh and juicy with moderate oak, a balance between fruit and spice with some smoky, toasty undertones. The palate showed fine-grained tannins and good freshness. It's approachable and very tasty. 65,580 bottles produced.
