The 2017 Medianías is made from Listán Negro and aims to have a little more complexity than the basic cuvée 7 Fuentes, in this case from grapes from the vineyards La Floridita and Hacienda Las Cañas fermented in concrete vats with 20% full clusters and indigenous yeasts. It was partly aged in 500-liter oak vats for nine months. It has more peppery aromas, perhaps a touch of spicy oak with an herbal twist. It has good structure with some tannin, and it's perhaps a little closed. It's a different profile from 7 Fuentes but at a similar quality level. 2,300 bottles were filled in August 2018.
