The Wine Advocate:

The 2014 Tega do Sal is a blend of Treixadura and Albariño with a pinch of Loureiro, sourced from two plots in the Vilerma quarter of the Avia Valley. These three hectares of west-facing vines were planted some 25 years ago on granite and sand soils, with some boulders on the surface and some clay components. Following what the Comando G guys like to do with their whites, the full clusters were pressed and the juice put to ferment with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels of different sizes. The wine was raised in contact with the lees but without bâttonage in 600-liter French oak barrels for ten months. There is a nice melange of white flowers, fennel, aniseed, apples and a cold granite sensation, very elegant and focused. The palate is quite voluptuous for what the nose hints, combining elegance and power, nicely balanced and fresh, quite long. This is very impressive for a first effort, a wine that hints at what is to come. 2,750 bottles produced.
