"The powerful and structured 2015 Finca la Emperatriz Terruño is pure Tempranillo from a plot planted in 1996 and now organically farmed. The uncrushed grapes fermented in open-top stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in a mixture of new and second use French (80%) and American oak barrels for 14 months. The nose reveals aromas of black fruit with ripeness, but the palate is still very raw, with stiff tannins that are going to require plenty of time in bottle to soften up. 21,552 bottles and 177 magnums were filled in June 2017".
