The Wine Advocate:

The 2014 Las Cercas is a blend of Tempranillo with 40% Syrah that fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 300-liter French oak barrels for 12 months. This feels riper than Las Norias, with darker fruit aromas and also a darker color. The two varieties were fermented and aged separately, and the blend was done at the end of the élevage. It has some dusty tannins, a slightly powdery sensation and a dry finish. I think the Syrah could be more expressive if it was aged in larger format containers; I find it a little constrained in the barrels. It's still elegant and balanced, but I believe it could be much better. 8,882 bottles and 198 magnums were filled in August 2016.

James Suckling:

This is a big and rich style with lots of concentrated fruit and toasted oak. Full-bodied, chewy and fruity. Drink now or hold.
