Martín Códax have been making this one-third new barrel-fermented style since the early 1990s, when such things were genuinely innovative. Sourced from warmer, south-facing sites, it remains a chiselled, even slightly austere style, with lots of toasty, spicy oak, impressive underlying concentration and lime, citrus and wet granite flavours. 2023-27
