Slightly preferable to the very good 2018, partly because it's had a couple more years to develop nuance in the bottle, this is a superb modern Ribera from Pedro Aibar and Fernando Remírez de Ganuza. Dense, perfumed and complex, with good tannin structure, autumnal notes of forest floor and tobacco leaf, fine oak, layers of balsam, raspberry and black cherry fruit and the concentration to age. 2022-28.
James Suckling:
A firm and tight red with blueberries and hints of toasted oak and coffee. Medium body. Silky and polished texture. Flavorful finish. Very pretty. Drink now.
