Delas Les Launes Crozes Hermitage 2020

A good introduction to the 2020 vintage in the Northern Rhone. Open nose of forest berries with hints of smoke and black pepper. Gentle tannin structure and fresh acidity give this a playful feel. Slightly sappy finish, but there’s enough red-fruit character to carry this. Drink or hold.

The entry-level Crozes, the 2020 Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes offers a deep purple hue as well as a brilliant, classic nose of blue fruits, cracked pepper, and violets, with just a kiss of bacon fat. Medium-bodied, bright, and fresh, this classy, elegant, wonderfully pure Syrah will drink nicely right out of the gate yet keep for 7-8 years or so.
