Badiola winery in Rioja Alavesa, produces terroir-driven, site-specific wines from old, low-yielding Tempranillo vines. Due to DOCa regulations, the vineyard name isn't allowed on the label of its inaugural vintages, hence the code: L3Z4 is Leza. Taste it alongside V1BN4 (Villabuena) and L4GD4 (Laguardia). Minimal oak (47% of the wine was aged in new and used barriques for nine months) allows the terroir to speak. Big and structured with layers of dark fruit; the nose is edged with peppery spice and herbs. Velvety berry fruit, firm tannins, leather and spice, with a lean, mineral backbone and a long finish. Decant it to open up. Drinking Window 2021 - 2027.
