<p>Alla fine del XII secolo si fa menzione per la prima volta del vigneto da cui proviene il Riesling con cui viene prodotto questo bianco, conosciuto come <strong>"mons Rhingravii" (la montagna delle contee del Reno).</strong> Siamo di fronte almiglior bianco secco che la tenuta può offrire, <strong>appartenente alla categoria "Große Gewächse"</strong>, che è l'equivalente tedesco di Grand Cru. È un vino molto minerale che incarna le qualità del <em>terroir</em></p>

Profumo
Naso complesso, con tanta mineralità e aromi fruttati che saltano all'occhio.
Bocca
Un vino dalla struttura complessa, molto minerale. Incarna le eccezionali qualità del terroir. Molto elegante ed equilibrato. Leggermente dolce ma rotondo, con una punta di salinità.
Temperatura di servizio
Tra i 7 e i 10 °C.
Consumo
In condizioni ottimali può essere conservato in perfetto stato per circa altri 15-20 anni.

Suolo
Terreni profondi e sassosi.
Vinificazione
Fermentazione in botte a temperatura controllata che dura dalle 6 alle 12 settimane.
Imbottigliamento
Filtrazione prima dell'imbottigliamento.

Entirely vinified in large, partly renewed oak, the 2020 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Trocken GG opens deep, pure, refined but also very intense and complex on the highly attractive nose that is full, generous and aromatic and reveals more oak aromas than the premiers crus Klosterberg and Turmberg. On the palate, this is a very elegant, refined and balanced Riesling with a sweeter or rounder taste than the Turmberg (although it's analytically less sweet), but it reveals a similar saline vibrancy. The richer and rounder sensation might be due to the loess-loam components of the Gräfenberg phyllite terroir compared to the shallower terroir of the Turmberg, but richness and power are the nature of the Gräfenberg, which is still fresh and refined enough to represent its coolish terroir character as well. Since the 2020 will be released only in September 2022 (so 12 months later than former vintages), I assume it will become brighter, finer and purer over the next 12 months. Tasted in August 2021.
