James Suckling:

Vanilla, wet leaves, camphor and walnuts to the creamy berries. Some more balsamic characters on the palate with a medium body rounded by firm, lightly chewy tannins. Creamy, long finish. Drink or keep holding.

There's still quite a bit of this remarkable Gran Reserva on sale at the winery, so it's worth making a trip to Haro sometime soon. Dominated by grapes from Villalba, it’s an assemblage of Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo. A modernised classic, with lovely focus and balance, impressive structure and mature, sweetly spiced red berry fruit. 2025-32

Decanter:

Lovely nose, displaying scents of coconut, cedar, dark currant and ripe black cherries, hints of nutmeg. Silky and very appetising.
