Made from 11 small parcels (pezas) planted in the early 20th century on slate soils in the town of Portela, this Godello is starting to show the complexity that the variety can offer after time in bottle. Appealing stony reduction reveals smokey lime and asparagus leading to a slatey, steely core. It has filled out with time in bottle, resulting in a rich, creamy and substantial mouthfeel. A hint of limey Mezcal on the finish is very morish!
