Fondillón Luis XIV Edad Superior a 50 Años

The 2024 bottling of the dark, spirity and pungent NV Fondillón Luis XIV Edad Superior a 50 Años comes from a cask called La Calera (handwritten on the back label). It has characteristics of very old wine and is volatile and pungent, with notes of rusty iron and low tide, in a style similar to a rancio from other zones of the Mediterranean. It has very good balance between the components—acidity, sweetness, alcohol and volatility—with notes of bitter chocolate and noble woods and a long and dry sensation in the finish. It has 18.5% alcohol, but never fortified. They filled 325 half-liter bottles. It should be almost indestructible.
