Protos Selección Finca El Grajo Viejo 2020

A series of small parcels at the foot of the Cuesta Manvirgo, one of Ribera del Duero's most famous landmarks furnish the raw material for Protos' icon Tinto Fino. Thyme and dried herb aromas are a prelude to a palate that's concentrated, yet refreshing, with chalky minerality, blueberry and black cherry fruit and very well-integrated new French oak. 2025-35. 

Plenty of oak spices here but they go off slowly as the mineral and floral quality comes more to the front. Blackberries, dark cherries and crushed stones with grilled thyme and mussel shells.
