Isole e Olena Chianti Classico 2022
Descrizione

A spicy and smoky wine with assertive aromas of embers, graphite, dried cherries, violets and minerals. Medium- to full-bodied with a supple palate, velvety tannins and citrus flavors. A tight-knit structure with a refreshing finish. Drink or hold. (Aldo Fiordelli)
Bright ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Intense redcurrant and Amarena cherry flavours on the nose, with forest floor and a hint of eucalyptus in the background. Juicy and round on the palate, accessible and with a long finish.
Made with 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo, the Isole e Olena 2022 Chianti Classico has soft fruit and cherry with light spice and a hint of Tuscany rosemary or laurel leaf. I like the vibrant and lively quality of fruit in a vintage that also delivers ample ripeness. This release of 130,000 bottles ferments in stainless steel and sees a quick 12 months in botte grande. (Monica Larner)
Timely rain in late August alleviated the stress experienced by the vines during a very hot summer. Considerable richness comes through on the nose, with its mulchy cherry aromas. It's an intense wine with firm acidity and distinct sour cherry flavours. Vibrant, youthful, and surprisingly fresh, it has a pungent finish that promises a long future. (Stephen Brook)
The nose is a bakery in springtime, radiating aromas of freshly brewed coffee, vanilla bean, soil and sweet wild cherry. Strawberries and more cherries lead the way on the palate, before a finish where the coffee note evolves into an espresso corrected with sambuca. (Danielle Callegari)
