Questa annata 2023 fa parte della nuova e brillante fase della cantina, dopo che nel 2022 Sandrine Garbay ha assunto la carica di direttrice generale, dopo 27 anni come enologa capo presso il mitico Château d'Yquem. Sauternes nella sua essenza.

Vinificazione
La fermentazione avviene in botti nuove, usate una volta e usate due volte, e dura da tre settimane a due mesi a seconda dell'annata.
Invecchiamento
Affinamento da 18 a 24 mesi in botti di rovere francese, tutte nuove al 100%. Contiene 130 grammi di zucchero residuo per litro.

This is really something, with such depth of fruit, layered phenolics and intense botrytis character. The dried mushroom dust on the palate is so intense and textured. Very sweet at the end, but fruity and framed. From organically grown grapes. Real Sauternes. 65% semillon and 35% sauvignon blanc.

A blend of 65% Sémillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc, containing 130 grams per liter of residual sugar, the 2023 Château Guiraud is vibrant and expressive, revealing aromas of apricot, exotic fruits, spices, white flowers and pineapple. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and deep, it is finely balanced, built around a lively core of fruit and defined by a beautifully judged, gastronomic bitterness that brings energy and precision to the finish.

Decanter:

Sweet and thick, this is unctuous and filling with the sweetness offset slightly by the acidity but this leans into full noble rot with nuttiness, bitter tropical fruit and citrus tang. This has a great drinkable aspect to it, so moreish and tasty, you just want another sip straight away. Delicious.
