Tamerán Verdello 2020

Verdello is the same grape that is planted in Madeira and Azores, which has nothing to do with the ubiquitous Verdejo from Rueda. The 2020 Verdello, planted around the winery in sandy soils, fermented in a 1,500-liter oak foudre, where it matured with lees for 10 months. It has moderate alcohol and ripeness (12.3% alcohol) and good freshness and acidity. This is very floral, aromatic and a little exotic, closer to the Marmajuelo and Malvasía Volcánica, a little à la Viognier. Despite not having gone through malolactic, the wine has a lactic-like touch, with the benefit of good freshness. It has pungent flavors and an almost salty finish. It's a dry and healthy place, similar to the south of the other islands, and easy to work given the atmospheric conditions. 2,660 bottles were filled in June 2021.
