James Suckling:

A juicy and peppery mencia with plenty of black sour cherries, blueberries and wet herbs. Succulent and dry on the palate with chalky, fine tannins and a very bright, appetizing finish. Delicious now.

Tim Atkin:

Produced from Mencía grown in the paraje of La Florida (in fact, from the 2018 vintage this will be labelled as Vino de paraje) where vines are around 90-years-old. Dark cherry and blackberry reveal the wine’s intense fruit character. The palate is lively and fresh with forest floor and a bloody profile that reflects the vineyard’s clay soils. Tannins also have a somewhat ferrous grip which frames an otherwise seductive and harmonious wine. 2024-32
