Ismael Arroyo was one of the founding bodegas of the Ribera del Duero Denominación de Origen in 1982 and is still making impressive wines from its vineyards in Sotillo de la Ribera. Something of a bargain at under €10, this is deeply coloured and intense, with high-altitude freshness and acidity, scented, spicy oak and bramble and mulberry fruit. 2023-27
A well-balanced and layered Ribera del Duero with dark berries, black cherries, dried herbs, cedar and peppercorns. It’s medium- to full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Textured with a powdery feel to it and a focused finish. Drink or hold.
Questa cantina è stata fondata nel 1979 da Ismael Arroyo, che le ha dato il nome, quando ancora non c'era la Denominazione di Origine Ribera del Duero. Lui è stato uno dei viticoltori che hanno lottato per creare questa DO nel 1982.
