Léoville Poyferré cuenta con la calificación de Segundo Gran Clu Classé, otorgada en la Gran Clasificación de 1855. De sus viñas procede este coupage elegante y clásico de Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc y Petit verdot, las uvas más representativas de Saint-Julien, una de las apelaciones más prestigiosas de Burdeos.

Viñedo optimizado a través de un amplio programa de siembra y de reestructuración que viene implantándose en los últimos 20 años.

Terrazas de grava sobre un subsuelo arenoso-arcilloso.
Raccolto
Vendimia manual que comenzó el 14 de septiembre y se prolongó durante 3 largas semanas hasta el 5 de octubre de 2023 en condiciones ideales para continuar con el trabajo de precisión en el viñedo.
Vinificazione
Maceración prefermentativa durante 6 días y posterior fermentación en depósitos de acero inoxidable termorregulables. Realiza maloláctica en barricas nuevas.
Invecchiamento
Crianza prevista de unos 18 a 20 meses en barricas de roble francés, el 80% nuevas.

James Suckling:

Beautiful on the nose. Stylish and concentrated, medium- to full-bodied, with freshness and a savory note in the finish. Cohesive and precise, with fine-grained, focused tannins. Very structured at the end. A solid and bracing Medoc.

Decanter:

Cola and salty edged blue fruit on the nose. Smells clean and crisp. Supple and lithe, this is creamy smooth with a softly chewy edge. This is really delicate and gentle, everything in place but nothing shouting. Clearly ripe fruit but well balanced with the cool freshness and licks of salty liquorice. This feels really hands off – a light touch in the winery for sure. Succulent and transparent. 4% Petit Verdot completes the blend.

Shy and introverted at this stage, the 2025 Léoville Poyferré reveals a somber bouquet of oak, spice, licorice and ripe dark berries. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and deep, it’s broad-shouldered and structured, built around a creamy new-oak mid-palate framed by an abundant tannic chassis that carries through to a spicy, oak-influenced finish.
