Descrizione

Echo è il secondo vino di Château Lynch Bages, anche se la sua morbidezza e struttura in bocca ricordano il grand vin della maison. Prende il nome dalla ninfa della mitologia greca, Eco, che fu resa muta come punizione per aver distratto Era, mentre Zeus cercava altre donne tra i mortali.

Clima
Il tempo nel 2021 è stato un po' complicato a volte, intenso, con temperature fresche e un po' meno pioggia del solito, e questo ha fatto sì che i grandi terroir abbiano avuto un ruolo importante nell'annata. Il tempo di fine settembre ha permesso ai Cabernet di raggiungere una maturità perfetta e una qualità davvero alta.

Vinificazione
Inizia con una doppia selezione manuale, prima in vigna e poi sul tavolo in cantina.
Invecchiamento
14 mesi in botti di rovere francese nuove e usate da un anno.

Dark currants with blackberries and a touch of pencil shavings. Good perception of freshness despite the ripe black fruit. Tight, full-bodied and fine-grained on the palate. Long, structured and juicy. 64% cabernet sauvignon, 31% merlot and 5% cabernet franc. Give it two or three more years.

Decanter:

Blue fruits, subtle perfume, a juicy blackcurrant and stony minerality on the nose. Supple and juicy, a real sense of fun with detail to the fine tannins. Well balanced, gorgeous texture, depth and characterful. A great second wine still with terroir markers, a salty finish, chalky texture and grippy tannins. Still concentrated and serious, there’s an intensity to the fruit but really well delivered. Will be a beauty. 91 IPT. 3.69pH. Ageing 14 months, new and one year old oak barrels. 3.9 g/L total acidity. 91 IPT.

This second wine is rounded with layers of fruit and soft tannins. It is juicy, full of berry and cocoa flavors. The wine's spice aroma and juicy aftertaste are attractive. Drink from 2027.

Cassis, black raspberries, graphite, dried flowers, and hints of chocolate all define the aromatics, and it has ripe, fine tannins, good mid-palate depth, and outstanding length.
