Descrizione

Questo fantastico Frontonio viene da vigneti tradizionali, coltivati in alberello e in regime di non irrigazione, in modo sostenibile, con uve che maturano in vecchie grotte. San Frontonio, un martire decapitato la cui testa fu trovata a monte, rappresenta lo spirito delle Cantine di andare controcorrente per presentare nuovi vini rossi come questo.

Vista
Colore rosso medio con un po' di blu.
Profumo
Speziato, intenso, con note di fragola rossa, pepe bianco e timo.
Bocca
Secco, leggero, con acidità fresca, alcol ben integrato e tannini morbidi ma decisi.
Temperatura di servizio
Si consiglia di servirlo a 16 °C.

Descrizione
Vigneti a 650 metri sul livello del mare, orientati a nord-ovest, nel paese di Alpartir.

80 anni.
Suolo
Ardesia, quarzite.
Raccolto
La vendemmia a mano inizia l'11 settembre. L'uva viene raccolta in cassette da 18 kg.
Vinificazione
Hanno usato grappoli pieni al 100% per la fermentazione con lieviti autoctoni in botti di rovere aperte.
Invecchiamento
Invecchiamento di 14 mesi in boticella.

The 2020 Las Alas de Frontonio La Tejera wants to be a light and fresh Garnacha that combines the character from the soils with attractive aromas of aromatic herbs. It's the result of fermenting the full clusters of an old plot on slate, clay and quartzite soils in concrete with selected yeasts and then matured in foudre for 14 months. It has moderate ripeness and alcohol (13.5%) while retaining good freshness and acidity. It has flowers (dry rose petals), citrus and tons of aromatic and Mediterranean herbs. It's a little rounder than the 2021 I tasted next to it (a constant when comparing the 2020s with 2021s), with rounder tannins and a gentler mouthfeel. 4,531 bottles produced. James Suckling:

Perfumed aromas of underbrush, dried flowers and a hint of tea. This wine is very elegant and medium- to full-bodied, with concentration and almost imperceptible tannins. The finish is long and flavorful, with subtle intensity. A garnacha-based field blend with a small amount of macabeo. Sourced from 80-year-old vines grown on slate and quartzite soil.
