Encrucijada viene da un appezzamento di proprietà delle Cantine nel villaggio di Valdecañada. Il processo di produzione si basa su una coltivazione biologica in vigneti molto vecchi. Ha un delicato sapore floreale e una certa mineralità. È una delle annate più eleganti ed equilibrate mai prodotte finora.

Descrizione
Vigneto a 700 metri sul livello del mare, nella zona di Alto de Valdecañada, vicino a Ponferrada. Coltivazione biologica e senza irrigazione.
Età
Vigneto vecchio di 80 anni.
Suolo
Lavagna rossa.
Vinificazione
Fermentazione con lieviti autoctoni e con tutti i grappoli interi in anfore di terracotta (70%).
Invecchiamento
Affinamento di 18 mesi in botti di rovere francese usate da 500 litri.
Imbottigliamento
Nel febbraio 2024.

The floral and elegant 2022 Encrucijada comes from vines in the Alto de Valdecañada in the zone of Ponferrada and also has a beautiful nose. It has a moderate 13.2% alcohol and very good freshness and balance. In 2022, they reduced the amount of full clusters to around 70% in the fermentation in clay amphorae (tinaja). The wine matured in a 1,500-liter oval oak foudre for 18 months. This is mineral, floral, complex, insinuating, nuanced and elegant, with depth, detail and filigree. This was the first vineyard they bought, so it's the one that has been worked organically and biodynamically for longer and is in the process of obtaining certification. The wine has a lot of energy, and during the tasting, I never thought about a warm year. 1,500 bottles were filled in February 2024. - Luis Gutiérrez.

This wine comes from a reputed old parcel, more than 100 years old, grown on quartz and slate soils. As the name suggests, the vineyard sits at crossroads in the central southern corridor. This is more slender in style, with slightly rustic tannins, scented by ethereal violet, lavender, wild herbs, as well as pretty wild strawberries and red berry fruit. A wine that truly speaks of its surroundings. 2024-30.
