Il Gaja Barbaresco è il pezzo forte della "partitura enologica" delle Cantine italiane. Un rosso che rappresenta come pochi altri l'impegno storico della famiglia Gaja con la denominazione. Per garantire la massima qualità, le Cantine hanno fatto un passo intenso nel 1961, quando hanno smesso di lavorare con i viticoltori storici per utilizzare esclusivamente il Nebbiolo proveniente da 14 appezzamenti di sua proprietà nei paesi di Barbaresco e Treiso.&nbsp

Degustazione

Profumo
Generoso, con note intense di rosa, liquirizia e arancia. Spiccano gli aromi di frutta rossa e nera (fragola, ciliegia nera acidula e mora).
Bocca
Corposo e pieno di note fruttate. I tannini fini bilanciano l'acidità e danno vita a un vino con un bel volume al palato. Il finale è lungo ed elegantemente dolce.
Temperatura di servizio
Si consiglia di servirlo a 16 °C.
Consumo
Fino al 2045 in ottime condizioni di conservazione.

14 appezzamenti nel paese di Barbaresco, a circa 250-330 metri sul livello del mare.

21.4 ettari.
Età
40 anni.
Vinificazione
L'uva viene fatta fermentare nel deposito di acciaio inox, separata in lotti. La fermentazione malolattica avviene in botti.
Invecchiamento
Poi i lotti vengono fatti invecchiare per un anno in botte. Dopo, vengono miscelati e lasciati invecchiare in rovere per altri 12 mesi. In totale, l'invecchiamento dura 24 mesi.

Blended across 14 vineyards, this wine shows the class, beauty and vitality of the noble Nebbiolo grown in the soils of Barbaresco. The wine opens with aromas of ripe cherries, warmed strawberries in sweet spices, fresh herbs and mixed flowers. The palate is lifted and vibrant with a verve that electrifies the palate as flavors of boysenberry, dried blood orange and black tea saunter about alongside well-intergrated tannins, making this wine drinkable now but ready for the cellar. So many aromas of fresh rose petals as well as hibiscus tea. Medium-bodied with crunchy and flowery character with sliced strawberries and a bright finish. So appealing with lovely structure. Chewy at the end. Drinkable but better in three or four years.

The Gaja 2020 Barbaresco reveals a slow and steady approach with elegant Nebbiolo nuances, lots of pretty intensity and bright primary fruit all the way to the far end of the mouthfeel. The bouquet has hints of toasted cumin, spice and cured leather. There's special depth to the mouthfeel that is pushed forward by freshness, integrated tannins and savory earthy end notes. The style is modern-classic.
