Gutier Seijo ci regala una nuova meraviglia con Mixtura Blue, un vino monovarietale di Mencía berciana proveniente da un unico vigneto. Fedele al suo progetto, viene vendemmiato a mano e ogni grappolo viene selezionato con cura per garantire una qualità eccellente. Viene fatto invecchiare per 12 mesi in botte, poi passa in un fusto di rovere austriaco dove riposa per altri 24 mesi. Il risultato è un vino rosso delicato, elegante e pieno di sfumature, di cui ci sono solo poco più di 3.300 bottiglie. Un vero lusso

The floral and aromatic 2021 Mixtura Blue, identified with a black label and a dash of blue on a corner, was produced with Mencía grapes from a vineyard in Bierzo, a 60-year-old plot in the zone of Cacabelos. It fermented with 100% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in well-seasoned and neutral 225-liter oak barrels. It matured in the barrels for one year and spent a further year in Austrian oak foudre. It has notes of wild berries and herbs with a spicy twist and is very showy and attractive. It's medium-bodied, spicy and fresh, with notes of acid berries and spice, very fine tannins and a tasty, long and clean finish. 3,319 bottles were filled in August 2023.
This shows herbal and floral aromas woven in with subtle red berry character. The palate is juicy, with crunchy fruit and a medium to full body. This is a blend of mencía from Bierzo and caino from Val de Avia. Drink now.
