Cerro Cerezo Il Quemao 2023
Descrizione

The Arlanza single-vineyard 2023 Cerro Cerezo El Quemaocomes from a vineyard that used to be owned by Olivier Rivière. It's a warm place with a significant proportion of Garnacha and Garnacha Tintorera and some white Albillo and Viura to complement the majority of Tinto Fino. It's a place at a higher altitude, close to 1,000 meters, where they have eight micro plots planted between 1940 and 1960 that total around two hectares. With full clusters of Garnacha and the rest destemmed, it fermented in 1,000-liter vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter barrels for 24 months without being racked. It is my favorite from the region with its floral, serious and captivating nose with detail and perfume and its balanced palate. It's not a shy wine; it comes in at 14.4% alcohol, with a pH of 3.74 and 4.9 grams of acidity, but it comes through fresher than what the tannins make you think. It was bottled in May 2026.
