Zárate Balado 2016

Eulogio Pomares tried to harvest early in 2016, and his Albariño shows very good acidity and freshness, even if the 2016 Balado felt a little austere and closed. However, the palate is vibrant and has that dryness and seriousness, that texture I tend to associate with the granite soils, which here feels very fresh. I think this is going to bloom with a couple more years in bottle and should make a beautiful mature Balado. 2,600 bottles were filled in July 2017.
