I could swear the 2022 Albamar Ancestral smells of oyster shells and seafood! It was produced with red grapes and therefore has a brownish color. It's full of character, with contained ripeness, 11.2% alcohol, abundant fine bubbles and a dry finish. It has changed a lot in one year and is now much better.
Ancestral is a new wine from Xurxo Alba, made with Albariño from Castrelo. Lees aged in bottle for ten months, it has pear, apricot and waxed lemon flavours, well-integrated 7 grams of residual sugar and an attractive cushion of bubbles. The granitic freshness lifts the finish. 2025-28.
